Switzerland: Prices Increased 0.1% in April - 7.5.2012


The national Statistical Office reported today that consumer prices rose in April by 0.1%, following a 0.6% gain in March. At the same time annualized CPI growth rate was stable at minus 1.0%, compared with rates of minus 1.0% in March 2012 and 0.3% in April 2011, the Office said. The Swiss franc depreciated against the dollar in Asian trading on general risk aversion in Europe – the pair USD/CHF reached 0.9270, the highest since March 15 before sliding during the European session toward 0.9200.
