Top daily news

Global stocks are trading mostly down currently while Wall Street ended mixed on Monday as investors awaited results from companies including Microsoft. Tesla shares lost 1.5% while the EV leader raised its 2023 capital expenditure forecast to ramp up output, Microsoft’s shares fell 1.4% on Monday underperforming market ahead of corporate results due today.

Forex news

The Dollar weakening has stalled currently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, lost 0.4% on Monday.

Both GBP/USD and EUR/USD accelerated their climbing on Monday as Ifo business climate survey showed an improvement of German companies’ sentiment for April. Both Pound and euro are lower against the dollar currently. Both USD/JPY and AUD/USD reversed their sliding yesterday with both the yen and Australian dollar lower against the Greenback currently.

Stock Market news

Futures on three main US stock indexes are down currently with the yield on benchmark 10-year Treasury notes down at 3.475%. US stocks closed mixed on Monday, with three main stock benchmarks recording daily returns in the range from -0.23% to 0.20% ahead of The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence report due today at 16:00 CET.

European stock indexes futures are down currently after closing mixed on Monday with technology shares leading losses. Asian indexes futures are mostly lower today with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index futures leading losses while markets in Australia and New Zealand are closed for a holiday.

Commodity Market news

Brent is gaining currently. Prices ended higher on Monday. US West Texas Intermediate WTI edged up 1.1% and is higher currently. Brent gained 1.3% to $82.73 a barrel on Monday.

Gold prices are edging higher currently . Spot gold added 0.33% to $1988.85 an ounce on Monday.
