USDIDX: Federal Reserve interest rate decision is the major event in the September 19-23 week. Fed chair Jerome Powell will hold a conference on September 21. He has reiterated his resolve to continue the policy of raising interest rates to bring down consumer prices inflation. Majority of traders expect a 75 basis point increase in the benchmark rate and reaffirmation of majority of policymakers’ support for further aggressive rate hikes will give the USDIDX a bullish boost.

GBPUSD: Bank of England (BOE) interest rate decision due on September 22 is an important event for forex markets. BOE raised interest rate at its last meeting and it is widely expected the bank will raise rates to 2.25% as new Prime Minister Liz Truss accused it of being slow to react to rising prices. And a decision to continue raising rates will be bullish for GBPUSD.
