USDIDX: Federal Reserve interest rate decision is the key event in the March 20 - 24 week. Fed chair Jerome Powell will hold a conference on March 22. Several members of Federal Open Market Committee have voiced their support for higher interest rates for longer to bring down inflation. The collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank has spurred speculation the Federal Reserve may reconsider its stance and pause rate hikes after these bank failures. Majority of traders expect a 25 basis points increase in the benchmark rate and a 50 basis point increase will be bullish for the USDIDX.

GBPUSD: Bank of England (BOE) interest rate decision due on March 23 is an important event for forex markets. BOE raised interest rate at its last meeting and it is widely expected the bank will raise rates to 4.25% after better than expected January GDP report. And a decision to continue raising rates will be bullish for GBPUSD.
