EURUSD: S&P Global’s flash Manufacturing PMI report for Germany is an important event in the May 22-26 week. In case the report on May 23 indicates German manufacturing sector contraction continued to accelerate after a weak April report - the EURUSD will come under bearish pressure.
USDIDX: United States Personal Consumption Expenditure Index (PCE) report on May 26 is the key economic event of May 22-26 week. Investors will be watching closely to see whether the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge continues to slow down or not. In case the PCE declines from the previous reading of 4.2% over year this may give some reason for the Federal Reserve to pause rate hikes - otherwise USDIDX will get a bullish boost.
