How to Open Real Account in MetaTrader 4

You open it from your online Profile on the IFC Markets website. Register for an account, log into your Profile, go to the "Accounts" tab, and choose "Open a new account." Pick "Real" as the account kind, select "MetaTrader 4" as the platform, choose whether you want a Standard or Micro account, set your leverage, and pick the currency you want your balance held in. Read through the Client Agreement, Trading Terms, and Risk Disclosure, and tick the box confirming you agree. Once you submit, the account opens right away and your login details are emailed to you. After that, you just need to make a deposit and you're ready to trade.

For MT4 accounts, leverage can go as high as 1:400 on a Micro account or up to 1:200 on a Standard account. In practice, you can choose any leverage between 1:1 and the maximum for your account type - higher leverage lets you control bigger positions with less of your own money.

On MT4, a Micro account needs just $15 to get started, while a Standard account requires $1,000. If you're not sure which to pick, the Micro account is the more affordable way to test real trading conditions with less money on the line.

You can hold your MT4 account balance in US dollars, euros, or Japanese yen.

MT4 accounts (both Standard and Micro) use fixed spreads starting from 1.8 pips, with instant execution, meaning your order fills at the exact price you request, though you may occasionally see a requote during fast-moving markets. There's no separate trading commission on these MT4 accounts; your cost is built into the spread. (If you want raw, near-zero spreads with a small separate commission instead, ECN pricing is only available on the MT5 platform, not MT4.)
